Who is Penny Layman?

I want to “Thank You” for visiting PJL Properties Costa Rica. My name is Penny J Layman and PJL Properties is my little piece of paradise in Costa Rica.

It is my personal goal for all of my clients to benefit from a high standard of professionalism throughout the real estate experience.

I understand that purchasing property and/or relocating is a major decision, especially in a foreign country and can be a scary and confusing process. With my years of experience, dedication to my clients and professional team, we take the guess work out of the purchase process.

Prior to selling Costa Rica real estate, I was a Manager at the Smith Barney securities brokerage firm in Texas. When I came to Costa Rica on vacation almost 10 years ago I was looking for something different. I was burned out with my “Corporate America” lifestyle and knew I wanted a change.

I had lived in Hawaii and at the time of my move, Texas. I did not speak the language, I was a fast food junkie, (which was non existent at the beach) and the rainy season was enough to send me over the edge!

I use to say when I would walk the streets of Tamarindo and I had mud up to my knees (this of course was before the road was paved) if my friends could see me now, they would never believe it! I was accustomed to suits, high heels and a Taco Bell on every corner. But I stayed and I am grateful everyday to the powers that be, for giving me the courage, strength and motivation that has changed my life.

After almost 10 years of living and selling real estate on the Pacific Coast, I have learned a few simple rules:

Location Location Location and know your product
Listen and know not only what your client wants, but also what they need.
And above all, Honesty and Integrity

These 3 rules are the heart of PJL Properties. I am here to assist you every step of the way and I am dedicated to making your experience in Costa Rica a happy one, because you, as a happy client, are my most valuable asset.
